Requests or commissions?

Wed Dec 23, 2009, 10:01 AM
So as I have not been as active with my drawing lately and am looking for a way to improve/get back into it, I'm wondering if anyone would be up for requests or even commissions of my stuff? I would have to work out details for commissions of course but requests would at least give me some new ground to cover. Please let me know if I can draw anything for you or if there are any current works you'd like prints of! Just a couple "rules" for commissions...I'd like to stick to my genre: people, I'm not very good at all at drawing animals and landscapes in colored pencil are a challenge, but if it's imperative I'll try it! Please just let me know as many specifics as possible, including medium. Thanks to anyone who participates!

Scanner Suggestions?

Sun Aug 23, 2009, 7:30 PM
Hi friends :)

I'm hoping those of you who scan your art (and preferably use colored pencils, markers, and the like) can maybe suggest what scanners you use. I've just had it with mine, it's pretty old, and its software won't work with Vista so I use very primitive scanning software I can't really adjust anything with. And even using Photoshop to make the colors more true won't help, most colors are so light it can't even grab those and make them darker.

So what do you use? I'm hoping to get this as a birthday gift but still don't want to break the bank with a high price. I'd prefer one that just grabs the image and I don't have to tweak it too much. I want what I see to be what I get ^^

Thanks everyone!!!

Can't Get Enough

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 17, 2009, 2:51 PM

Well what's been going on...
As I mentioned last entry I graduated mid-May. Now a MONTH later I'm still sitting around :P I got mono a few weeks ago and am just starting to get over it. I have no idea where I got it, I haven't been around people much lately, so I must have gotten it at graduation or just before school ended. It's sucked. I've been hanging out at home a lot, but at least that's given me some time to do a little bit of art, watch movies, read, and play video games :) I'll need to start looking for a job again soon.
So as you may have noticed I've really started to get into acrylic landscapes. I never saw myself going in this direction, I mean fantasy people is a complete opposite of what I'm into now. But I'm really enjoying doing them. I'm trying to get better :D

Added later:
An update on my life! I graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver last week with a business management degree. I'm starting to look for jobs but am enjoying just taking each day as it comes ^^ Embarrassing story...my first interview call turned out to be from a fakey sales company...cool huh? College education and I can't trust my instincts and figure it's a scam on Craigslist. Oh well :)
Things have been going pretty well, as you may have noticed I'm starting to paint with acrylics so am feeling rejuvenated in that aspect. I'd like to get away for a vacation but am having trouble finding someone to go with me :)
Otherwise...just loving life and always trying to see the best in everything :)

Gosh it's time for a new journal!
Things have been going very well...it's been a whole semester since my last update, and many things have changed.
I am seeing a new boy, have only a semester left of school, and am losing my job because my store is closing. That is bittersweet, I will miss the work but am a little tired of it anyway :) Overall I am very happy and enjoying how things are going! Been doing a lot of drawing lately as my boy is an artist as well, and is very helpful/critical/inspiring.
